Implementation
The aim of this work package is to strengthen the cooperation between partners at as many levels as possible, especially with regard to young people, in order to increase the interest in culture, history and traditions in the border area.
Activity 3.1: Creation of the research group (13-14 October 2017)
The research group consists of 24 people, 12 Romanians and 12 Serbs, representatives of the two communities: teachers, civil servants, young people, retirees. It has the role of transmitting information, initiating cultural activities, promoting local culture and traditions, as well as cooperation between the two communities.
The research group met on 13 November 2017 in Valcani.
The next day, 14.10.2017, the working group, along with 38 participants, especially children, participated in the "Cultural Itinerary" activity and visited various places of interest in Sânnicolau Mare and Jimbolia, discovering new things.

Activity 3.2: Cross-border visit to the Mora Ferenc Organization in Čoka. (4-5 November 2017)
At the headquarters of Mora Ferenc orgamisation, the second meeting of the working group took place. The opening word was addressed by the mayor, Ms. Stana Đember , followed by Mr. Zoran Jovanov, as Project Manager.
Two local historians presented Čoka geographically, economically and culturally.
There was also an exhibition of handmade articles through napkin, embroidery and quilling techniques.
The activity continued with the presentation of the points of interest in Čoka: the Orthodox church, the Catholic church, the school, the center of the locality.
The following day, alongside 38 participants, the working group made a thematic tour on the route: Čoka-Aracha (medieval basilica) - Terra Gallery, Kikinda Art Center - Kikinda City Center - the "devet grla" bridge in Vrbica.
Activity 3.3: Cultural Education Session - "The Cultural History of the Ethnic Groups in Banat".
This activity aimed at increasing the interest of the population, especially the younger generation, for the history and culture of Banat, as well as identifying common elements on both sides of the border.
There were two events, the first in Valcani on 1 December 2017 and the second on December 16, 2017, at Čoka. The events were organized for a broad audience, with participants of all ages.
At both events were presentations on the theme: Banat between the Past and Present, Habits and Traditions in Valcani and Čoka, Interculturalism and Tolerance in Banat.
Activity 3.4: Banataski Monoštur Summer Folk Camp (06-15 July2018)
It is a tradition camp, organized annually, being at the 17th edition, attended by children from Serbia and Hungary, and this year also children from Romania. Throughout the whole period, children learn folk dances, old crafts and the accommodation is made in tents. At the end of the camp, there will be organised exhibitions of children's work.
Activity 3.5: Creative Workshops (September 2018-May 2019)
The young people in Valcani will take part in three workshops on different themes that will be held weekly and residents from Valcani will be invited to them. Each workshop will have a coordinating instructor.
The Gastronomy and Folklore Workshop: aims at researching, preserving and rebuilding local traditions and customs. Twenty young people from different social categories and ethnic groups will take part in the activity. Research will also be done through IT equipment (six computers purchased under the project). In addition, young people will arrange a small museum to reconstitute the "Peasant Stove".
Traditional Dishes Workshop: In this workshop, 15 young people will learn old traditional recipes, specific to the area, which are less and less cooked at home today.
Handcraft Workshop: 15 young people will learn old crafts: corn husk braiding, crochet, knitting, etc.
Activity 3.6: Folk Dance Course, organized in the Valcani Multicultural Center.
The activity is aimed at organizing popular dance classes to discover, promote and support young talents. For 40 weekly sessions, classes will be held in the multifunctional room in the multicultural center.
Activity 3.7 Culinary art in Banat (March - April 2019)
The members of the traditional food workshop will take part in an exchange of experiences with young people from Banatski Monoštur where they will prepare traditional dishes. Two groups from Romania and two groups from Serbia will prepare two specific dishes.
Activity 3.8: Multicultural Festival in Valcani (May-June 2019)
This festival will allow young participants in the workshops to show what they have learned and to other participants to travel and socialize. There will be folk music performances, folk costume presentations, presentations of local customs, culinary fair, cauldron cooking contest.
The festival aims to promote cultural and natural heritage in order to increase the interest of community members in preserving traditions and promoting dialogue and cross-border cooperation.
